Civic Honours Awardees 2016

This would have to be my favourite assignment of the year. Hastings District Council accepts nominations for individuals and groups who have made a valuable – and voluntary – contribution to the community and presents each of them with a Civic Honours Award.

This year’s awardees included David Sykes, the Flaxmere College PTA, Jim Edwards, Leg-Up Trust, Phil Harman and Sharee Jones.
Appointments for the portraits took me to Waimarama, Clive, Whakatu, Hastings, Flaxmere and Bridge Pa. The images were then collated into a commemorative book which was given to everyone who attended the awards evening.

“Duncan has been tasked with producing the photographs for the Hastings District Council Civic Honours Awards programme for a number of years.
He received a minimal amount of information from me and had to make all the arrangements to meet the recipient and determime how to produce the most effective photo for the programme.
The photos that are included in the programme are testament to the professional  manner in which he approached this task. He interacted with the people in a caring and lighthearted manner which allowed him to get the most out of each subject.
After seeing the completed programme on the night, the recipients were geniuine in their praise for the quality of the photographs.
And from an event management perspective, I was totally confident that Duncan would always complete the assignment within the timeframe and his work would enable us to produce a high quality programme.”
