Twenty-seven new citizens were recently welcomed to New Zealand at a ceremony at the Hastings District Council, by deputy mayor Cynthia Bowers and council CEO Ross McLeod.
Kahurangi Maori Dance Theatre put on an awesome Maori performance and each new citizen was presented with a kowhai tree, a native of New Zealand.
They included people from Samoa, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Kenya, India, The Philippines, Britain, China and Italy.
